Eyelid Lift

Your eyes can be the most inviting and engaging area of your face.  Unfortunately, this can also the first area to show aging. Early aging of the eyes can be hereditary, with excess upper eyelid skin and under eye bags appearing in our late teens or early twenties.

An eyelid lift can restore youthfulness to your eyes. It can correct drooping upper eyelids and puffy bags below the eyes by removing excess fat, skin, and muscle. Upper eyelid surgery may be covered by insurance if used to correct obstructed vision.

The procedure takes 1 to 3 hours. Temporary side effects can include discomfort, tightness of the lids, swelling, bruising, burning, itching and dryness of the eyes. Patients can read after 2 or 3 days, and they may return to work after 7 to 10 days. Patients may experience excessive tearing and sensitivity to light for the first few weeks. Contact lenses may be used after two weeks or longer. Bruising and swelling will be gone after several weeks.

Results will last several years, and are sometimes permanent.
