Breast Augmentation

At Advanced Plastic Surgery Center, we are dedicated to helping you achieve your dream figure with procedures to enlarge and reshape the breasts.

Dr. Mark Fetter is an expert in breast augmentation surgery. He takes a customized approach to achieve the optimal breast size and shape for your unique needs and goals. He considers factors such as your desired look, body frame, lifestyle, amount of natural breast tissue, and current breast size.

Both silicone and saline breast implants are available for breast augmentation. Filled with a thick silicone gel, FDA-approved silicone implants are most similar to natural breast tissue in feel and appearance. Saline implants consist of sterile saltwater in a silicone envelope. The implant is actually filled after insertion into the breast. At your consultation, Dr. Fetter will help you choose the option that best suits your personal preference.

Since each breast augmentation procedure is individualized, the location of the incision will be also discussed at your consultation. Additional preoperative sizing with a staff member is available.

Typically an outpatient procedure, breast augmentation surgery lasts 1 to 2 hours under general anesthesia.

Breast Reduction

If you have back or neck pain and believe your breasts are too large for your personal satisfaction, breast reduction surgery can be ideally performed at Advanced Plastic Surgery Center in Prescott, Arizona. Like other cosmetic breast procedures, breast reduction is highly individualized. Even areola reduction may be an option. The procedure removes glandular tissue and excess skin, typically from and an incision around the areola. The final result produces smaller and firmer breasts as well as providing a perkier appearance. Many breast reductions are also done simultaneously with other procedures such as a breast lift, liposuction or tummy tuck. Schedule a consultation to see how we can help transform your bust line to enhance your appearance or reduce pain. Typically an outpatient procedure, the surgery lasts two to four hours under general anesthesia.

Breast Lift

A breast lift, also known as mastopexy raises the breasts by removing excess skin and tightening the surrounding tissue to reshape and support the new breast profile.

New statistics from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons show breast lifts have grown 70% since 2000, outpacing breast implants 2-to-1.

In some cases, the areola becomes enlarged and a breast lift will reduce this as well. A breast lift can restore your breasts to a more youthful and uplifted figure.

A woman’s breasts often change over time, losing their youthful shape and firmness. These changes and loss of skin elasticity can result from:

  • Pregnancy
  • Breastfeeding
  • Weight fluctuations
  • Aging
  • Gravity
  • Heredity

What breast lift surgery won’t do:

  • Breast lift surgery does not significantly change the size of your breasts or round out the upper part of your breast.
  • If you want your breasts to look fuller, consider a breast lift with breast augmentation surgery.
  • If you want smaller breasts, consider combining breast lift and breast reduction surgery.

Breast Implant Revision

Even when breast implant surgery is executed perfectly, changes can occur over time. The size and shape of your breast implants can change, and your breast tissue can change, too. If you’re not happy with how your breasts look and feel, it may be time to consider breast implant revision.

Dr. Mark Fetter is a board-certified plastic surgeon who specializes in breast implant revision. He takes the time to understand what you want to achieve from breast implant revision and then develops a surgical plan tailored to your unique goals.

Reasons to consider breast implant revision:

  • Your saline implants have deflated or your silicone implants are leaking
  • You’d like to increase or decrease the size of your implants/breasts
  • You want to switch to a different type of implants
  • You have tightening of the scar tissue around the implant, known as “capsular contracture”
  • You don’t like how your breasts look after weight loss/gain
  • Your implants have shifted position, so your breasts aren’t symmetrical
  • Your implants look different following pregnancy and/or breastfeeding
  • You’re unhappy with the results of your previous implant surgery
  • You want to have your implants permanently removed

You may be a good candidate for breast implant revision surgery, if:

  • You are in good overall health
  • You do not smoke
  • Your weight is stable
  • You want to address problems that have developed with your implants and/or surrounding breast tissue over time

Breast implant revision surgery is performed under general anesthesia.  Side effects can include swelling, bruising and moderate discomfort. You may return to work in 5 to 7 days (or in 2 to 3 weeks if your job is strenuous.) By 6 to 7 weeks, the swelling should be gone, with your breasts feeling softer and more natural.  6 to 12 months after surgery,  your breasts should feel “normal” and you will be able to see the final results.
